Erasmus+ Project "Road to a Green Future" Mobility in Spain

In September 2023, as a part of the Erasmus+ KA2 project "Road to a Green Future", a team of four teachers from Daugavpils Draudzīgā aicinājuma secondary school - project coordinator Olga Dukšinska, Aļona Proščenko, Žanna Špoģe, Agita Pavloviča - visited Spain, Valencia.

The goals of the project are directly related to EU priorities in the field of combating environmental and climate change, common European values and civil participation, as well as support for teaching professions. Cooperation partners are Turkey, Italy, Spain and Latvia.

On the first day of the meeting, the project participants were introduced, the team from each member state presented their educational institution. Negotiations and discussions about the week's work plan, project tasks and each country's area of responsibility were held.

In the following days, the participants of the mobility were active. After getting to know the history of the city, we went on an excursion to the Valencia City Hall. In order to explore the city, a game was organized in which the project participants had to find as many historical objects as possible. In another activity, we had a possibility to see things and objects in Valencia that show a clean ECO environment. During our visit to the Ceramics Museum, we were able to see and learn about the works of various famous artists, made of clay and porcelain. While visiting the reserve, we observed the protected plants and birds, as well as the fields where rice is grown. It should be mentioned that Spain and Europe finance a program to preserve rare plant and bird species, while rice cultivation plays an important role in Spain's economy. An excursion was organized for the project partners along El Saler beach and Deves forest, the territory of which students are actively involved in cleaning. A master class was also organized in preparing and tasting the Spanish national dish (paella).

At the end of the mobility, an online meeting was held with participants of the OBCD (Open Business for Community Development) and the Erasmus+ KA210 project "Road to a green future", where the coordinator of the Latvian team, O. Dukšinska, shared her experience of the project's goals and activities.

There were discussions, exchange of partners' opinions, talks about the planned mobilities. All participants received certificates for participating in the project mobility.

Thank you for the warm welcome and a nice time together in Valencia!
